You realize the story; we didn’t really feel like making dinner, however we didn’t really feel like going out both. An out of doors temperature of 9º will do this. I gave a suggestion for Chinese language and thought of a spot I used to frequent on a regular basis, Willow Backyard.

Positioned on the nook of ninth and Willow streets, they provide solely take-out service. Again within the day, I used to show a pair blocks away and this was my lunch spot a couple of times every week. However since I moved on from that job, I’ve not been right here in near 14 years. Will it restore my nostalgic quest?

Our meal tonight consisted of Rooster with Garlic Sauce combo ($8.75), the Dragon & Phoenix chef particular ($12.25) and crab Rangoon ($5.25). The primary dish was good dimension hen items with bountiful veggies blended in a delicate flavored garlic sauce. The fried rice complimented the principle dish properly. This combo got here with a pleasant crispy egg roll.

Our second dish, the Dragon & Phoenix, is a mixture of Basic Tso hen and shrimp with greens. This dish is served with white rice. Our hen items have been somewhat over fried however tasted nice. The shrimp have been massive and got here with six shrimp. The Basic Tso sauce had some warmth. It was an important dish for my dinner. The rangoon got here in a folded-up wonton and crammed with that crab and cream cheese goodness.

Our take: Willow Backyard presents a typical Chinese language menu with just a few distinctive plates. Our plates have been full portion sizes that left lots for extra meals. You’ll get full dimension meats and a pleasant mixture of veggies. Costs are very affordable, and taste will go away you wanting extra.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓.
