Norton Shores man accused of stealing automobile, breaking into dwelling and main deputies on chase

MORTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Norton Shores man is in custody after the sheriff’s workplace says he stole a automobile, broke into a house to steal fuel and led deputies on a chase.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Workplace says it began on March 12 round 9:48 p.m. at a house in Morton Township.

Deputies say they have been known as to the house for a housebreaking alarm. After they bought to the scene, deputies say they noticed a car on the highway in entrance of the house pace away.

The sheriff’s workplace says after they ran the license plate, they realized the car had been stolen out of Grand Rapids.

Deputies say they chased the car eastbound on M-20 into Isabella County.

In response to the sheriff’s workplace, the car ran out of fuel and stopped a couple of miles west of Mount Nice.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Workplace says 41-year-old Jared Theilbar was taken into custody with out additional incident.

Deputies say Theilbar broke into the house and stole fuel.

He was arraigned on expenses of fleeing and eluding, breaking and getting into, stealing a car, having stolen property and having open intoxicants in a car.
