Southeastern Galveston Bay closed again for harvest due to low abundance of legal-sized oysters

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) — An space of Galveston Bay used for industrial and leisure oyster harvesting will likely be closed due to low ranges of legal-sized oysters for harvest.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Division is closing the TX 1 harvest space starting on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

This is identical space that was closed final weekend as a result of elevated lab outcomes.
