World Conflict II Veteran’s legacy remembered by buddies | High Tales

MERRILL, Wis. (WAOW)– A World Conflict II Veteran was remembered by his buddies after he handed away two weeks in the past.

Elroy ‘Heinie’ Lemke, generally known as ‘Heinie’ to his buddies, died on the age of 98. Those that knew him stated he lived a full and completely happy life serving his nation and his group.

A pal of Lemke’s stated whether or not it was serving his nation within the Pacific throughout World Conflict II or working for Wisconsin Public Service as a lineman, he was vigorous and love. Lemke labored with the Merrill Crime Stoppers and was a member of the Northwoods VFW, at all times prepared with a smile and a sort phrase.

“He is a couple of in 1,000,000. I might argue that they do not make males like ‘Heinie’ anymore. He was that nice of an individual, that nice of a person,” stated Paul Russell, Chairman for the Northwoods Veterans Publish.

Lemke was laid to relaxation at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery with army rights. The group confirmed up for the funeral to pay their respects. 

Russell stated they’re planning a memorial for Lemke so he shall be without end remembered and honored.
