DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WEHT) — Daviess County Fiscal Court docket had their first studying of an ordinance that will decrease the insurance coverage premium tax for County residents outdoors the town limits of Owensboro and Whitesville.

“The insurance coverage premium tax was elevated by 4 % to assist with the downtown undertaking, significantly the Conference Middle,” defined Jim Hendrix, County Treasurer.

“We had a provision within the authentic ordinance that stated, as soon as we collected sufficient income to service the bond debt, the tax needed to come off the speed,” he added.

Hendrix says the County may have collected sufficient cash by the top of the Fiscal Yr to service the rest of the bond debt.

If authorized, the insurance coverage premium tax will return to the unique fee of 4.9 % on July 1, 2022.
