After spending the previous 10 years as a dealership basic supervisor, Vikas Mehandroo has bought his first dealership: a Ford retailer in Poway, Calif., north of San Diego.

Mehandroo on Dec. 6 purchased Perry Ford of Poway from Perry Automotive Group. The shop was renamed Aaron Ford of Poway, after Mehandroo’s son.

The Perry Automotive Group had owned the dealership since 1996, based on Efficiency Brokerage Companies, a buy-sell agency in Irvine, Calif., that dealt with the transaction.

The Perry group, owned by Perry Falk and Deborah Falk, function a number of different dealerships in Southern California.

Mehandroo stated he got here to the U.S. from India in his 20s.

“I have been within the enterprise for 20-plus years and in February of this 12 months, I made a decision I wished to be a vendor principal,” he advised Automotive Information, including that he was searching for a domestic-brand retailer.

He stated the Ford dealership in Poway was engaging as a result of it’s a “newer facility” and “in a great group.”

Mehandroo already has enlargement plans. He stated he’s slated to purchase a Stellantis dealership in January.
