When Cathleen and Britt Seay purchased their dwelling in 2000, they knew they needed to renovate the house and begin a household. What they didn’t know was that it might take them 17 years to get all of it carried out.

“We needed to renovate as a result of the home felt darkish”, says Cathleen. “My husband and I had been each born and raised in Greenville, met at Greenville Excessive and went to Clemson. We had been younger and contemporary once we purchased this home and did quite a lot of the work ourselves.”

When we moved in, the opening (from foyer) was only 30Ó (to the living room and the dining room) so we immediately widened that to get a little more flow. My parents had given us an old cabinet that was ripped out of a house on McDaniel so we installed that and built more modern shelving around it for some contrast.

“Hiring an architect (for us, Tindall Structure) was so vital. Although, we all the time knew what we needed to do to the home – we weren’t all the time certain easy methods to get there. Tindall introduced the main points that made it work.”

Extra:Location was key for Casey and Patrick Reid and their renovated Greenville dwelling

Cathleen can snicker about her youthful bold years, however we’re right here to inform you it doesn’t appear as if she’s slowed down one bit.
