MADISON (WKBT) — Sherry Quamme of Ferryville acquired the Governor’s Legacy Award throughout the Wisconsin Governor’s Convention on Tourism.
Quamme acquired the award Tuesday evening from Gov. Tony Evers for her work selling tourism in western Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Mississippi River Parkway Fee/Nice River Highway.
State Rep. Jill Billings, D-La Crosse, who nominated Quamme together with Dave Ring of Kwik Journey, described her as “really a devoted public servant and volunteer, going above and past to assist and promote the working of the WMRPC and tourism in Western Wisconsin.”
The annual award is offered to a person who has made a long-lasting contribution to tourism.
Quamme, who has been a fee member since 2008 and chairwoman since 2013, “is an energetic, engaged, and knowledgeable chief on all tourism actions in our area,” Billings stated.
“She works arduous to spice up our space not solely throughout the State of Wisconsin, however nationally as effectively, overseeing the Nice River Highway’s designation as an All American By-Manner final yr,” Billings stated.
