A storage fireplace and pure gasoline leak induced the evacuation of two houses in northwest Minot Tuesday night, based on the Metropolis of Minot.

The Minot Fireplace Division responded to 1221 fifth Ave. NW at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an explosion in a storage. Firefighters extinguished the fireplace a couple of minutes after arrival.

Whereas on scene, firefighters seen the odor of pure gasoline. Utilizing detection gear, they discovered excessive ranges of gasoline within the dwelling the place the storage fireplace occurred and in close by storm sewer places. Firefighters exited the house and moved personnel and gear to a protected distance as a precaution.

Crews with the Minot Fireplace Division and Montana Dakota Utilities (MDU) monitored gasoline ranges outdoors close by residences. A number of space residents have been alerted to the state of affairs by members of the Fireplace Division, MDU crews and members of the Minot Police Division. One residence was evacuated as a precaution.
