In Loving Reminiscence of James Joseph Grand

August 30, 1931-February 9, 2022

Jim was born August 30, 1931, in Akron to the late Edgar James Grand and Elizabeth Barbara Marie Hartwick Grand. Jim married Betty Jean Krause, the love of his life and finest buddy for 68 years on June 12, 1954.

Along with his spouse, Jim leaves behind his two daughters, Julie and Beth; his 4 grandchildren, Nicolle, Brett, Jenna, and Christian, all of whom he adored; his two sisters JoAnn and Judi; his sister-in-law Joan Grand; and 5 nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of The US Military, serving as a Second Lieutenant within the Infantry.

Jim’s profession was in training. He was devoted to youngsters and his occupation. He labored as a trainer and a principal for 44 years. Considered one of his best accomplishments was to open a versatile idea elementary college in Wooster. Lura B. Kean Elementary was labeled as the varsity of tomorrow.

After his retirement, Jim constructed an artwork studio off the again of his house and created an internet site known as Jim Grand Studios, a platform to promote his work and sculptures. He revealed a hardcover ebook in 2014 known as The Land and the Sea. On this ebook are a lot of his work in addition to 5 of his poems.

In his later years, Jim continued so as to add magnificence to this world via his portray, poetry and gardening. Jim’s best pleasure was to examine WW II, for he grew up studying in regards to the warfare and the courageous troopers who fought for our nation.

He beloved the house and backyard he had created and lived there fortunately till his final day with the assistance of many loving caregivers. He lives on within the hearts of those that beloved him, his art work and poetry.

We could have a celebration of life ceremony on June 6, 2022.
