Searsport soldier promoted, carries household legacy of service

Windham Veevaert, of Searsport, was promoted to the rank of captain over the February drill interval for Ahead Assist Firm, 133rd Engineer Battalion.

Veevaert has been a member of the Maine Military Nationwide Guard for seven years and is presently the commander of the Ahead Assist Firm.

“I really feel very honored and grateful to be promoted to captain,” stated Veevaert, in a Maine Nationwide Guard information launch. “My mother and father have been each Military officers, so it’s a huge milestone for me personally. Being promoted can also be a reminder of the responsibility and accountability related to management. I see management as a service that gives a framework for these under you to thrive and succeed at their jobs. I ask myself, how can I information or how can I higher facilitate initiative, concepts, and fulfilling motion?”

Veevaert works full-time because the command provide companies officer at Joint Pressure Headquarters in Augusta.
